Mourning

2021. April 1.

Prikler László

It is with our greatest sorrow to announce that our colleague and friend, Laszlo Prikler, unexpectedly passed away on the 30th March 2021, at the age of 59.

He was a very kind and supportive colleague and a scholar whose contributions profoundly impacted the professional progress of many in the power system transients community, i.a. as co-author of the ATPDraw manual or as instructor in several courses on modeling transient phenomena using EMTP-ATP. He had a passion for details and perfection, and never missed a chance to give his full attention to students, colleagues or industry partners asking him for advice or contribution.

He received the IEEE PES Region 8 Outstanding Engineer Award, he was member of the Leuven EMTP Center Steering Committee, and served as Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the European EMTP-ATP Users Group association. He was an honorary member of IPST (International Conference on Power Systems Transients) Steering Committee.

He will be sorrowfully missed.
